Tenuta il Palagio | Branding & Packaging Design


Over the years, Sting and Trudie Styler have dedicated themselves to restoring their Tuscan Villa, il Palagio and its estate vineyards. Their efforts have resulted in several notable varietals including Sister Moon, Message in a Bottle and Roxanne, to name a few. Having achieved industry credibility with these varietals, they've now opened the estate for guests to experience firsthand.

Objective:
Create a unique brand for Tenuta il Palagio that’s as distinctive as it’s varietals and as alluring as its grounds. 

Solution:
Having access to one of the world's most creative couples presents a unique opportunity for a brand. So, we married Sting’s musical achievements with Trudie's deep knowledge of storytelling, to create a distinctive brand whose mission is rooted in family bonds and creativity. To ground this, we created a master brand, using chest pieces—like those found on the life-sized chest board at the estate—to represent the couple and their six children. This mark can be found on all touch points of the brand, from its olive oil to stationary. Each wine label dissects lyrics from its corresponding song title. From When We Dance to Sister Moon, lyrics are used as a foundation for each visual expression. For the US launch of Roxanne, we documented the couple’s deep connection to the estate and the role it plays in their creative process—leveraging both a brand film and still assets in social channels (both unaided and paid), a brand partnership with Dacor, and on il-palagio.com.
