ABOUT PATRICK THOMAS O’NEILL:

(Executive Creative Director, TBWACHIATDAY, 2000 – 2014)

Prior to joining Theranos, Patrick spent over two decades leveraging his passion for communications, the arts, design, music, architecture, and pop culture into memorable cross platform campaigns that succeeded at both building brands and delighting consumers.

Arriving at TBWA|CHIATDAY's flagship Los Angeles office in 2006, Patrick spent the next eight years as its Executive Creative Director. During his tenure, he influenced nearly every brand on the agency roster, including Gatorade, Pepsi, Apple, Crate&Barrel, Southwest Airlines, Nissan Leaf, the Academy Awards and more. In 2012, he was the key creative leader on the breakthrough “Go World” campaign for the Olympics-Visa partnership. Always eager to explore the potential of emerging technologies, he oversaw the Grammys campaign that led to record-breaking ratings, and helped the broadcast to become the most "social" TV event in history, with over 13 million mentions in social media. He helped launch the world's first Apple iAd for Nissan’s first electric car, the Leaf, and oversaw the award-winning “Replay” campaign for Gatorade, which received 11 Cannes Lions, including two Grand Prix. His breakthrough campaign for Pacific Standard Time: Art in LA 1945 – 1980, won multiple awards for digital and branded content in 2012.

In 2013, Patrick created the “Let’s Get Zesty” campaign for Kraft Salad Dressing. The campaign enjoyed a pop cultural moment of its own, resulting in record sales increases, multiple television show appearances on every major US talk show by its spokesman, the Zesty Guy, as well as inspiring a boycott by the Million Moms Foundation.

A pioneer in breakthrough LGBT themed creative work, Patrick launched the first television commercial featuring a gay couple for IKEA in 1993. His work for ABSOLUT, including the National Coming Out Day campaign, ABSOLUT OUT, received a GLAAD Award for Best Gay Themed Ad in 2003. He also created the ABSOLUT HUNK episode of "Sex And The City" taking branded content to the next level.

In addition to his agency work, Patrick has lent his eye, and his leadership skills, to numerous organizations and boards. He recently joined Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, on the Board of Directors of the Rain Forest Fund, and has also served on the Google Creative Council, the Facebook Creative Council, and the Board of Directors of ThinkLA. Patrick is also Creative Director for Sting and Trudie’s wine collection from their Italian estate, Il Palagio, in Figline, Valdarno.

Pushing beyond media and communications, Patrick designed his Woodstock, New York home, which was built in 2001, and featured in Architectural Digest, the New York Times and the Hollywood Reporter. He recently completed a restoration of his 1959 Richard Neutra home in the Hollywood Hills.

Awards include: Clios, One Show, D&AD, Cannes Lions, Effies, Andys, Addys, Hive Awards and more.
